Schneefalle is the the name of this wooded sculpture set on the slopes of the Schmittenhohe Mountain at Zell am See in Austria.
It was created in 1998 by the artist Herbert Golser and is part of a larger project, Art on the Mountain consisting of over 30 objects and sculptures. The project merges landscape and art.
Schneefalle was my favourite and I spent some time viewing it from different angles.
I particularly liked the end on image with the small summit cairn appearing like a rifle sight.
Leanne Cole, an Australian photographer hosts a weekly Monochrome Madness Challenge. www.leannecole.com.au I entered my image and was delighted when it was chosen. Her website shows monochrome images from photographers around the world.
Monochrome as always been my favourite and last week I looked again at the panel of prints that I submitted to the Royal Photographic Society way back in 1990. The panel was successful and I was awarded my LRPS>
Printed on Ilford Gallery paper the prints are as vibrant today as when I printed them.
I wonder if we will be able to say that about the digital inkjet images that we produce today.
I must copy them to feature in a future blog.
