Bicycles, bicycles everywhere.

It was the last day of our holiday. We had checked out of our room but had an hour to wait before our coach collected us to take us to the airport. I went to stand on a street corner to watch the world go by.

Back in 2005, Katie Melua’s had a top 10 hit with the song.” There are nine million bicycles in Beijing.” I’m sure it is true. There are everywhere. Not just commuters but cyclists pulling heavy loads. A last chance for some photos.

My favourite is this last one that I call Taxi for One.

Look at the padlock on the door. No way is she going to leap out and do a runner!

It had been a memorable holiday. So different from anything I had done before.

About crosbyman66

My aim is to create a photo diary of my walks and my travels. I have two main hobbies, walking and photography and these complement each other. I am a senior citizen, what used to be called an old age pensioner, but I don't feel old. Since retirement I have had more time to pursue my hobbies and the opportunity to travel more. My philosophy now is - Do what you can, while you can. My other interests are fine wines and keeping fit. These may not complement each other but keep me happy.

  1. It must be very stressful to drive over there, will all these bicycles.

I would not even attempt it, especially now when there are also more cars on the road to add to the pollution.
