Sunday 19th February 2012.
On Sunday my local rambling club,Crosby CHA, visited Sedbergh where I did the 9 mile ‘B’ walk.
After the excitement of the recce for the ‘A’ walk last Monday I decided to have an easier day and go on the B walk led by Barbara. It was also taking me east of Sedbergh onto the Frostrow Fells, an area that I had not walked before.
Conditions were perfect as we headed east out of Sedbergh towards High Side farm and onto the fells.
We followed a minor ridge and then a path above Holbeck Gill to reach the watershed. From here we could look down into Dentdale and across towards Whernside. We dropped down to Helmside and then followed field paths to Millthrop, a tiny mill settlement. We then joined the ‘Dales Way ‘which we followed back to Sedbergh.
