The Midlands Way Link

    Riders at Essex Bridge

Saturday 12th September.
An interesting and varied walk over Cannock Chase linking two of the Midlands long distance footpaths.
I started from Seven Springs and crossed Wheetmans Bridge heading north to meet the Trent and Mersey canal which I followed to bridge 73 at Great Haywood Lock.
Leaving the canal I crossed Essex Bridge, a lovely old packhorse brige to follow a tarmac drive across the Shugborough estate.
From Milford common I followed the Heart of England Way to limk up with the Staffordshire Way to reach the stepping stones in Sherbrook Valley.
The final section was along the Sabrina Way back to the car at Seven Springs.

About crosbyman66

My aim is to create a photo diary of my walks and my travels. I have two main hobbies, walking and photography and these complement each other. I am a senior citizen, what used to be called an old age pensioner, but I don't feel old. Since retirement I have had more time to pursue my hobbies and the opportunity to travel more. My philosophy now is - Do what you can, while you can. My other interests are fine wines and keeping fit. These may not complement each other but keep me happy.
