Franz Josef

March 3rd.
Franz Josef.
The highlight of my holiday so far was a scenic flight in a light aircraft operated by Air Safaris NZ. We did the Grand Traverse Tour flying over two World Heritage National Parks with magnificent views of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. We could look down on the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers with their deep crevaces and pinnacles.
An unforgetable experience.
In the afternoon we walked to the foot of the Franz Josef glacier and then strolled alongside the Waiho River which was swollen after three days continuous rain.
Perfect weather for phography.
See photo album. Franz Josef.

About crosbyman66

My aim is to create a photo diary of my walks and my travels. I have two main hobbies, walking and photography and these complement each other. I am a senior citizen, what used to be called an old age pensioner, but I don't feel old. Since retirement I have had more time to pursue my hobbies and the opportunity to travel more. My philosophy now is - Do what you can, while you can. My other interests are fine wines and keeping fit. These may not complement each other but keep me happy.
