North Island

Saturday 23rd Feb.
Rain and gale force winds. We were hit by the tail end of a cyclone. The streams are raging torrents and the fields are flooded. It looks just like the Lake District did in January. We arrived at our beach front hotel at the Bay of Islands to find the beach littered with debris and water had come into some of the rooms. When will it stop raining? The Pacific Ocean looks muddy with all the churned up sand, a bit like the Mersey on a bad day.
Not at all what I expected.
No photos today.

About crosbyman66

My aim is to create a photo diary of my walks and my travels. I have two main hobbies, walking and photography and these complement each other. I am a senior citizen, what used to be called an old age pensioner, but I don't feel old. Since retirement I have had more time to pursue my hobbies and the opportunity to travel more. My philosophy now is - Do what you can, while you can. My other interests are fine wines and keeping fit. These may not complement each other but keep me happy.
